IN DIFFENSE OF FOOD AN EATER'S MANIFESTO by Michael Pollan ①

For this semister I'd finish reading a famous food-related book, IN DIFFENSE OF FOOD: AN EATER'S MANIFESTO by Michael Pollan. In his book, he displays the simplest motto that anyone who wish to eat healthier can follow, in this ever confusing world regarding what is the right way to eat for our body.

The motto is:

EAT FOOD, NOT TOO MUCH, MOSTLY PLANTS

But what does that really mean? He's going to explain it to us with his observation on toxic neutritionism in the modern western society, especially this one country: U.S.

Michael Pollan is an American jounralist who has been well known for the previous works such as THE OMNIVORE'S DILEMMA, A NATURAL HISTORY OF FOUR MEALS.

He is not a scientist himself, but the reason why his books are so accepted by so many people and given a place as siginificant educational materials when we talk about food, to eat, and the relationship with the environment of our planet is that: he acknowledges/ appreciates science, yet he's also aware of the danger of under-researched scientific foundings telling us what to eat.

In the 2nd post on this book, I'll try to sum up his point of view on neutritionism, which is the huge theme on it ^^
