Hello, everyone! Today I'd like to do an analysis on a restaurant I visited a few weeks ago with my best friend ;D
THE CITY BAKERY BRASSERIE RUBIN is a restaurant chain run by THE CITY BAKERY, which has its origin in NewYork back to 1990. They have 18 bakery&cafes and 7 restaurants here in Japan. I and my frined went to one of the restaurants based in Yokohama.
We ordered:
①Grilled pork spareribs 1650yen (1815 with tax)
②Buttermilk chicken with Biriyani 1600yen (1760 with tax)
As we finished the order, the waiter brought us a basket of 3 kinds of breads as all the lunch menu came with no limits of breads!*
*Focaccia, Walnuts bread, Whole wheat bread
My frined liked the walnuts and I liked the focaccia the most^^
They were inceredibly moist, warm and fluffy! It makes sense because they originally started as a baker. I don't doubt it even if someone said they'd visit the restaurant mutiple times just to eat the breads.
We ended up having 4 baskets together...believe me, it was so easy!
The waiters were all frinedly and polite. They asked for another basket or filling of water on the perfect timings.
OK, now let's move on to the main dishes I listed in the previous lines.
*Buttermilk chicken with BiriyaniThe bottom layer is Indian biriyani and over that, we had lentils seasonsed with spices for Indian curry, followed by buttermilk chicken, tomatoes, corianders, and a piece of lime. I felt like everything was coocked with the light combination/amount of seasonings with flesh ingredients!
*Grilled pork spareribsAnd my frined's order! My frined really liked how the meat was so soft. And the veggies were caramerized. Such a perfect main dish for the fluffy breads.
To conclude, we both really enjoyed the experience there. In the NEWoMan Yokohama, they have the bakery on a differet floor and we've been there some months ago, and then we loved the pastries, especially thier cornbreads. So we thought why not trying the restaurant this time. We were very excited for the no-limit breads and it was no disappointing!
I and my friend, we want to try different menus too. Actually, you can add another bread: prezzel to the service by paying extra 220yen (with tax), and we're even eager to try that on our next visit ^^
Your star rating was easy to understand! And I would love to visit the restaurant and eat their bread as they originally started as a baker + the Buttermilk chicken with Biriyani.
ReplyDeleteYour review was really helpful to know about the shop!
ReplyDeleteIf I go to Yokohama, I'll definitely visit!!!
To serve both focaccia and biriyani at the same restaurant is quite unusual. They're an eclectic restaurant. Your descriptions painted a vivid picture of your experience.
